The Hydrovac Truck Specialists

What Are The Advantages Of Hiring Us?

At D&L Environmental Ltd., we offer you a wide range of hydro-excavating services, like the removal of contaminated soil or daylighting to expose the underground. One of our best features is called Hydrovac.

With modern vacuum pump technology, our Hydrovac trucks use highly pressurized water to liquefy the soil, creating a type of slurry mixture which is then extracted and carried away. These vacuum trucks can save you precious time by effectively digging and moving soil. Hydrovac is useful in various industries, including excavation, plumbing pipe or pole installation. It gets the job done faster and cheaper, without affecting the quality of the results.

Unlike conventional excavation, this method is less expensive and more efficient. It is also eco-friendly and safe. Using the best Hydrovac trucks in the Kelowna, Vernon and the Penticton areas, we can help your dry wells, make accurate environmental test holes, and clean sludge ponds as well. We also offer vault cleaning services, trenching and catch basins.

Hydro Excavation Essentials

Remote Excavation means undertaking excavation in tight spaces. Why is this such a great solution for excavation challenges? The big advantage is that the truck and other gear don’t have to be brought all the way to the location – they can be situated some distance from the excavation site. The results? Minimized impact and less restoration requirements to the excavation site; less traffic congestion and more convenience.

Cold Weather Excavation is much like it sounds – only more challenging. We take hot, pressurized water and inject it into the soil surface. This thaws the frost layer quickly, leaving a slurry that’s much easier to take out through out heavy-duty vacuum. With cost-reduction & efficiency on your side, many industries have opted for hydrovac excavation as their go-to method for projects in cold-weather environments.

Non-Destructive Excavation (NDE) means a very precise process that uses pressurized water to loosen the soil and a powerful vacuum to excavate and clear away that soil with minimal environmental footprint or effect on buried infrastructure as well as increased job site safety. This is a much more effective and desirable alternative to traditional methods, which can end up costing companies & stakeholders much more in the long run.

Customer Satisfaction Is Our #1 Priority

Nothing is more important to us than to satisfy our customers and offer you the best solutions on the market. The hydro-excavation operations we execute are done safely, respecting all environment and safety rules. Hydro-excavation is safer for both workers on site as well as nearby communities. It uses water and vacuum pumps, without involving dangerous materials and unnecessary risks. It is the ideal solution for those who need to execute excavations without affecting the surrounding soil, which is a necessity for landscaping.

Hydrovac can execute digging with a higher accuracy than the traditional methods of excavation. Whether you need to install pipes in Penticton or cables in Kelowna, or are looking to execute caving works in Vernon, D&L Environmental Ltd. offers you the most accurate results possible.

If you need to dig and remove soil, and you want to see your work done quickly without spending a lot of money, we are here for you. Your job will be perfectly done faster and safer, saving you money as well. For more details on how we can help you, contact us today.

WHAT WE DO

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I found a great house, but it has a septic system and not sewer. Should I give up my hopes on buying this house?
  • Do I need a pump for my septic system? If so, why?
  • What is hydro excavation? Why does a vacuum truck (septic) company also do this?
I found a great house, but it has a septic system and not sewer. Should I give up my hopes on buying this house?

Not at all! Modern septic systems are robust, sturdy and effective. We have installed and serviced many septic systems in Kelowna and across the Okanagan. While it’s true that some older septic systems may require attention or service, that is more a function of the age of the home and property.

Having said that, your best bet when buying a home is to hire an inspector to see that the home is in good condition. If you are interested in having D&L check the septic system, we would be happy to do so. Please contact us to set up an appointment for a site visit.

Do I need a pump for my septic system? If so, why?

Chances are, if you live in the Okanagan, you have a property with some rise or slope to it. Many septic systems involve secondary treatment. Raised systems such as sand mounds require a pump. This is necessary for “pressure distribution,” which uses smaller pipe to distribute effluent. This allows effluent to be stored in the pump chamber and pumped to the entire disposal field at once.

Thanks to this kind of system, no part of the disposal field is saturated, whereas the field is able to drain out and dry completely in between doses.

What is hydro excavation? Why does a vacuum truck (septic) company also do this?

Hydro excavation uses high-pressure water and vacuum technology to cut through dirt, rocks, and debris – in a clean and safe manner – to expose utility and electrical systems, pipelines, or to clear a path for next stages of construction. Hydro excavation is a non-destructive means to excavate an area with precision. Also called “daylghting,” this is rapidly becoming the preferred means of cutting and clearing.

The vacuum trucks for septic systems can double as hydrovac trucks, with some essential modifications to the vehicle and systems.
